Getting Here: For SatNav users, our postcode is EX32 7NQ. Please DO NO NOT follow your sat nav to the final destination as it will take you to our neighbours – Little Lilly Farm! The town of Barnstaple is only 5 minutes away but most people arrive from the East on the A361.
COMING FROM THE EAST – A361:
There are 2 route options for the last couple of miles; the scenic or using the main roads. We prefer the scenic but we’ll let you decide!
THE SCENIC ROUTE
As you come close to Barnstaple, turn left at the junction marked Landkey / Swimbridge (Blakes Hill Road). Take the immediate next left (Birch Road), continue past new houses on right, then take a left signposted Harford, Acland & Goodleigh (Acland Road) at the crossroads. You’ll cross the A361 main road via a bridge, then drive up quite a steep hill until you see another junction signposted for Willesleigh / Goodleigh. Turn left here, head down the hill until you come to another crossroads. Take the tight left hand turn signposted Westacott / Barnstaple (not Goodleigh!). Follow this road for about a mile, past Coombe Farm B&B and after nearly another mile, take the first unmarked lane on the right. You’ll drive over a small stream / bridge, then take the first unmarked road on the right. And you’re here! Well nearly ;-) Take the right hand fork for Great Lilly Cottage (Great Lilly Farm sign). Now congratulate yourself on gaining your Scout badge in Devon Orienteering!
THE MAIN ROAD ROUTE
If approaching Barnstaple from the A361, take the second exit at the Portmore roundabout and follow signs for Ilfracombe / Lynton / Lynmouth. Go straight across 2 roundabouts then last exit at the 3rd roundabout (large FORD garage next to it). Take the last exit again at the next roundabout then about 200m along, there is a set of traffic lights (Bear St). Turn right into Goodleigh Road (signposted Goodleigh / Bratton Fleming) at the traffic lights, follow the road for approx. 2 miles and turn right down an unmarked lane directly opposite Ivy Lodge (white gate) and a caravan park (it’s the second signposted turning for Maidenford / Westacott). After 200m or so, turn left into an unmarked lane, then take the right hand fork signposted Great Lilly Farm. And relax….. you’ve arrived!
